Two local families started this company on a hope and a dream. Twenty years later, we are still fabricating stone in eastern Iowa.
Our Story
Imperial Stone was founded in August of 2005 under a partnership between two local families.
They started the company on a hope and a dream in a small shop in Manchester, Iowa, just big enough to support the little equipment and the few employees they had.
Imperial Stone was a manual fabrication shop until 2014, when Tom and Amy Rave decided to buy their partners out and became sole owners of the company. The transition brought a lot of growth, and it was no longer feasible to run a manual shop. A new building went up, all new state-of-the-art equipment was on its way, and we expanded our staff to 14 full-time employees. That brought a whole new level of production to Imperial Stone.
Today we service roughly a two-hour radius from our fabrication shop in Dyersville, covering Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Our values have always been constant: it is in the details. We appreciate our customers, our employees, and our community.

Meet the Team
Owners, sales, shop, and install. Most of us have been doing this a long time.
Tom founded Imperial Stone in August 2005 alongside his wife Amy. Originally from Greely, he earned his associate's degree from Kirkwood and now lives at Lake Delhi. He and Amy have four children (Kayla, Lauren, Wade, and Matthew), grandkids Junior, Londyn, and Shiloh, and a dog named Zoey. Outside the shop he is happiest with the horses on their hobby farm.
Amy grew up in Edgewood and studied accounting and human resources at Upper Iowa University. She has helped steer Imperial Stone from a two-family partnership into a 14-person shop.

Lauren studied Interior Design at Kirkwood Community College and lives in Independence with her husband Tony. Phoebe, the office dog, comes to work with her.

Maria joined Imperial Stone in April 2024. She is from Colesburg, holds a cosmetology degree from Capri College in Dubuque, and previously owned a salon in Earlville. She is married to Matt, who is also on the team.
Mitch is from Farley and holds a Finance degree from Loras College. When he is not helping customers pick stone, he volunteers as a wrestling coach at Western Dubuque.
Ryan joined the team in late 2025. He grew up in Dyersville and now lives in Palo. Local claim to fame: he played in the first-ever organized game at the Field of Dreams.
